New firmware from Sony for the PSP

Sony has released a new firmware update for the PSP.

Numbered 2.71 it adds the ability to download and save demo versions of games through the inbuilt internet browser and improves the LocationFree Player. It also adds a new “Goto Network Service” icon to the “Network” column.

As always, the homebrew community recommends to stay at v1.50..

New PSP Modchip

The first modchip for the SONY PSP is coming soon. It is called 'Undiluted Platinum', or the U.P.

The chip will come and act like a flash replacement, and will allow you to use earlier updates and custome firmware on the PSP. That will result in people running homebrew on they're PSP's without Sony pulling the plug on newer updates available.

The net is already flooded with PSP games, so this will result in people downloading new games to theyre PSP.

ABC News makes programs available for PSP

ABC NEWS

ABC has announced that they will make content available for the Playstation Portable through they're program called ABC News Now.

Bernie Gershon, an ABC representative said "Today, 99% of people with PSPs are using it to play the fantastic games, But our view is that wherever there is a screen, there is a potential viewer of ABC News."

For now, only two ABC reports are avilable for PSP - one on Cyber-Security and one on Hybrid Cars, you can chem em' out on the PSP Connect website.
